Our Customers Are Our Best Marketing

The rugs we hand back are what keep Chicago homeowners recommending us.

Why we clean rugs at our facility, not on your floor

An area rug isn’t a fixed carpet — it has a front, a back, fringes and a foundation that all need proper dusting, full-immersion washing and controlled drying. None of that can be done well on your living-room floor, where in-home “rug cleaning” only treats the surface. We collect your rug, clean it properly at our facility, and bring it back — with free pickup and delivery. If a sturdy synthetic rug only needs a light freshen-up, we can do that refresh right in your home – but a true wash, any stain work, and anything delicate always goes through the facility.

Delicate and natural-fiber rugs: what "extra care" means

Silk, viscose and antique hand-knotted rugs can bleed dye or lose their sheen if they’re cleaned like a synthetic. Jute, sisal and coir can’t be saturated at all — water breaks the fiber down. That’s why every rug is dye-tested and routed to the right protocol before any washing starts. We never default to one method.

Viscose is also the best example of why the facility matters. On a sofa we often have to decline high-viscose fabric – it’s too risky to wet on your floor. As a rug, the same fiber can be washed, because the plant gives us what a living room can’t: a dye test first, low-agitation immersion, and drying we control from start to finish.

7-Step Rug Cleaning Process

1.

Rug Checkup

We kick things off with a close look at your rug. We’ll note any spots, stains, or special care needs. This helps us tailor our approach to suit your rug's unique characteristics.

2.

Dust Removal

We begin by thoroughly removing loose dirt, dust, and debris from the rug using specialized duster machine and vacuuming equipment. This step ensures that the cleaning process can be more effective.

3.

Stain Pre-Treatment

Stubborn stains? No problem. We apply special solutions to target and loosen those tricky spots, getting your rug ready for the deep clean.

4.

Deep Clean Magic

For a truly deep clean, we give your rug a meticulous hand wash, using rotary machines on both sides for a thorough clean. This ensures every fiber is refreshed and revitalized.

5.

Centrifuge Spin

To expedite the drying process, we place your rug in a centrifuge. This high-speed spin removes roughly 80% of the moisture.

6.

Gentle Drying

We carefully transfer your rugs to a specialized drying room equipped with fans and controlled humidity levels. This ensures they dry thoroughly and evenly.

7.

Final Check

Before we hand it back to you, we give your rug one last look. Any lingering spots or stains? We’ll take care of them. Then, we fluff up the fibers, so your rug looks and feels like new.

Why a rug clean takes 10-14 days - and why that's a good sign

An off-site rug clean isn’t a same-day job, and that’s the point. Once we pick up your rug, the full cycle runs about 10-14 business days – and most of that time is drying. After the wash and extraction, the rug stays put until it’s dry all the way to the foundation, not just on the surface. Rushing that stage is how rugs come back stiff or musty instead of fresh. We’d rather take the time and hand back a rug that’s actually finished.

What brings Chicago rugs to us most often

Salt and grit tracked in during winter is the most damaging thing for entry and hallway rugs — it acts like sandpaper on the fiber from the inside. Downtown Chicago homes also tend to have high-value oriental and Persian pieces that owners are understandably cautious about cleaning anywhere other than a proper facility. And pet households — Chicago has a lot of them — usually come to us when the urine smell has outlasted every home remedy. (When the smell has settled into the couch as well, that side of the job is our upholstery cleaning.) We see all of these regularly. The approach is the same: assess first, match the method to the fiber, set honest expectations before we start.

Frequently asked questions

We now have an FAQ list that we hope will help you answer some of the more common ones/

How often should I have my rugs professionally cleaned?

We recommend having your rugs professionally cleaned every 6-12 months, depending on factors such as foot traffic, pets, and environmental conditions.

Basic ($4.25/sq.ft.) covers synthetic rugs — polypropylene, nylon, polyester, olefin — through our full 7-step process. Premium ($5.75/sq.ft.) is for natural fibers: wool, cotton, jute, sisal and shag rugs that need gentler chemistry and full-immersion washing. Deluxe ($6.95/sq.ft.) is for silk, viscose, rayon and any handmade piece — hand-wash or low-agitation immersion, dye-stability testing, pH-balanced rinse and climate-controlled drying. Not sure which tier your rug falls into? We assess it when we pick it up.

Yes, we provide free pickup and delivery services for your rugs. This ensures a hassle-free experience for our customers.

Pet accidents get an enzyme wash that digests the residue causing the smell instead of covering it up - and for heavier cases the rug is soaked and given extra treatment at the facility. One honest caveat: if urine has gone all the way through into the foundation of the rug, some odor can remain even after a full clean. We'll tell you what to expect before we start, not after.

Silk and viscose can bleed dye or lose their sheen with any standard cleaning method — they need hand-wash or low-agitation immersion in controlled conditions. Jute breaks down when saturated with water, which causes permanent yellowing (browning). Both need our facility. We dye-test every rug before washing starts — no exceptions.

Fringe repair and edge work can be arranged separately on request — let us know when you book and we'll assess what's possible for your specific rug.
